Swann Auction Galleries Sale #2752: Notable works from the nineteenth century include Francis Frith's "The Pyramids of Dahshoor, from the East," 1857; and a rare daguerreotype by Felix Jacques Moulin, "Two Prodigal Women," 1860s. The auction further features a significant constructivist composition by Alexander Rodchenko, "Pushkin Square," 1932, and a rare portfolio by Todd Webb previously unoffered on the market.

Further highlights include imagery of the American West with Ansel Adams' "Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada from Lone Pine, California," 1944, printed April 1978; and abstraction studies, including ten photographs from the "Seaweed Martha's Vineyard Portfolio," 1943-53, printed 1982, by Aaron Siskind. The auction also features works associated with the Kamoinge Workshop, including Gordon Parks' "American Gothic," 1942; printed circa 1970, and Roy DeCarava's "Man Coming Up Subway Stairs," 1952. Street photography features Fan Ho, "Three Men Walking, Hong Kong," 1962, printed 2006; and Elliott Erwitt's oversized "Arc de Triomphe, Paris," 1956, printed 2000s. Contemporary highlights feature Vik Muniz’s "Aftermath (Emerson)," from "the Children of Brazil" project, 1998.

A selection of press photographs documenting civil rights by Bob Adelman and Fred McDarrah, along with examples of vernacular photography, will further enrich the dynamic sale.
